Community Radio is a resource that encourages local involvement through its programs and outside broadcasts which are tailored to meet the needs of community.

8EAR Community Radio Inc (Gove FM) is a community radio station and operates to the Community Broadcasting Code of Practice. It is unique in that it is a non-profit community organisation run by volunteers, yet has to operate as a small business to stay financially viable. Gove FM is the only general community radio station in Nhulunbuy - at the heart of the community.

Gove FM is the local Emergency Services Broadcaster for Gove Peninsula and is a vital link in the provision of important Emergency Services messages to the Community at large.
