The Lulu Raes – All Our Parents Are Divorced EP Review

‘All Our Parents Are Divorced’ album by The Lulu Raes

I didn’t have to listen to a single track to know that I was going to add this new EP by the Lulu Raes to the Feature Album pile… It’s flammin well called ‘All Our parents Are Divorced Now’ and accompanied by the dodgiest looking band photo since the last dogiest lookin’ band photo that I saw on a vinyl record cover! How could I not like it?
Thankfully after hearing the opening refrains of their track My Mid 20’s I was suitably assured that I haven’t made the biggest mistake in my life… That was made some time ago and involved police, a rather large paddock of long grass, intoxication, impulsive friends and unsuccessful supressed fits of laughter…and was carried out quiet a few years prior to my mid 20’s which seem like a bloody lifetime ago.
Sorry, I digress, Who are the Lulu Raes I hear no one shouting?
Well I’ll tell you anyway. They’re 5 mates of Queensland and NSW origins who now all base themselves in Sydney and play sun-tinted indie pop to all who may care to listen. They’ve shared the stage with the likes of Sticky Fingers, The Dune Rats, DMA’s and the Vines to name one more than a few.
Their EP is available now for your listening pleasure so help an Aussie band member afford a two minute pack of noodles and buy it without delay.

Listen in to Gove FM as each week we feature a new release by an Australian artist or group. Every day before the midday news, hear the feature artist’s track, and Wednesdays after the 2pm news, tune in for an interview with the featured artist.
